This month we have selected a fruity & spicy Zinfandel!
Grown at the Black Vineyard in Palisade, this is a bright and energetic Zin! The vineyard is situated just outside of downtown of Palisade, owned and managed by Dallas Black. The vineyard is still fairly young, making for a more fruity and softer style of Zinfandel – delicious, expressive and vibrant flavors are consistent from these youthful vines. The Balistreri style, especially for Zinfandels, is to ferment whole-cluster. This adds exciting flavors to Zin, as well as helps with our natural fermentation.
The palate is juicy and bright with pomegranate and flavors of red plum. You’re wafted into the glass with aromas of seasoned compote, stewed red fruits and warm spices like anise and nutmeg. This Zinfandel is tasty and easy drinking with medium body and good acidity which elevates it on your tongue and stays buoyant across the palate. Enjoy with mild bodied foods fit for this time of the year! It is a wonderful wine to transition us into Spring and warmer weather as we enjoy lighter meals.
