A Balistreri first!
What is Nero d’Avola?
Widely grown all over Sicily, this grape’s name literally translates to “Black of Avola”; Avola being a small town in Sicily where the grape originated from. It’s known for its depth of flavor and color, making it a popular grape to blend with other varietals. However, Winemaker John is partial to letting Nero d’Avola stand on its own to really appreciate its beauty.
