Tempranillo in Colorado
Originally from Spain, Tempranillo grapes have found the perfect home here in Colorado because they adapt well to our high altitude, warm weather, abundant sun, and dry growing season.
A Mature Rendition of the ’17
Tempranillo is known as Tinta Roriz in Portugal and we often use these grapes in our Balistreri Port. Bruce Talbott from Talbott Vineyards in Palisade produced so much of this Tempranillo in 2017 that we were able to set aside some for extended cellar aging. Thus, we are so excited to offer this smooth, mature rendition for April 2022’s wine of the month!
