If you know of Hovde, then you’ve been enjoying Balistreri wines since at least 2007! If not, let us introduce you to one of our most fond growers of Cabernet. After many years without, we have once again sourced grapes from this special Colorado Vineyard, and they have once again overdelivered. The 2023 vintage is uniquely special, in that this vineyard ripened slowly, and for much longer than normal. Building immense amounts of complexity and ripening beyond anticipated, the vines maintained balance and held acidity in the grape. After being hand picked in the middle of October, the grapes fermented slowly for an entire month, generating depth, extraction, and intensity across its characteristics. All this made for ideal foundations to build a robust vintage of Cabernet!

Aromas of strawberry jam, & subtle green pepper are complex and giving. The palate is spectacularly savory with red currants, balanced tannin and drinks notably smooth. This Cabernet Sauvignon is quaffable, tasty and inviting while staying structured and bursting with potential. Enjoy with savory and hearty dishes this November, but be sure to get extra bottles. We expect this vintage from the Hovde Vineyard to only get better over the next 8-12 years. We are so happy to share this exciting wine with you once again!
