For the December Wine of the Month, we always like to offer something special to commemorate the holidays. This year, we’ve done just that with our brand new Petite Sirah from Brother’s vineyard! As you know, Petite Sirah is John Balistreri’s favorite varietal and 2019 marks the very first vintage we’ve produced this wine.
Like our Brother’s Cabernet, the Brother’s Petite is named after Joe Spano, the winemakers cousin, who farmed the vineyard in Lodi CA until his passing in 2018. Now, his son (also named Joe) continues his legacy by continuing to grow Cabernet and now Petite Sirah.

FIRST VINTAGE!!!
This new Petite Sirah is named after “Brother” Joe Spano is hand harvested from a sustainably farmed vineyard in Lodi CA. This is a classic Petite Sirah with incredible power, memorizing color, and distinguished structure. There’s a rich, mocha and vanilla note from the American Oak that balances against the rich and dark fruit character.
This Brother’s Petite is fantastic and showcases a different side of the varietal compared to it’s Colorado counterpart. Where the Colorado Petite Sirah is extremely peppery and spice driven, Brother’s Petite is all about the lush, dark fruit character. The Brother’s Petite is notable for how easy drinking it is, despite being such young wine. It’s about as smooth as it gets with a long finish and subtle tannin. Indeed, this is a rare style Petite Sirah that is balanced from the start. It could age, but it’s drinking great right now.
We really hope that you all enjoy this Petite Sirah and hope it brings joy this holiday season! Don’t forget, as wine club members, you
